PTH 30MG contains Cinacalcet which belongs to a group of medicines called Calcimimetics. PTH 30MG is used in adults and children (aged 3 to less than 18 years) in the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism with serious kidney disease in whom dialysis is needed to clear blood from waste products. The medicine is also used in the treatment of parathyroid cancer and primary hyperparathyroidism in adult patients. Primary hyperparathyroidism is a condition where one or more parathyroid glands (pea shaped glands) produces more parathyroid hormone (responsible for controlling calcium levels in blood) which results in the elevated levels of calcium in the blood characterized by frequent urination, increased thirst, joint and kidney pain. Secondary hyperparathyroidism is a condition that causes loss of calcium in blood which is characterized by weak bones, joint pain, kidney stones, with increased urination.
